Parade Ground at H.M.S. Raleigh

HMS Raleigh is the modern-day basic training facility of the Royal Navy at Torpoint, Cornwall, near Whitsand Bay. It is the New Entry Training Establishment for all men and women joining the Royal Navy and is the home of many different facilities including the Royal Naval Submarine Training School and the Plymouth Command Firefighting and Damage Control School.

This evocative painting of the Parade Ground at HMS Raleigh, by Cornish artist Raymond Hunt, is available either as a beautifully framed print, or a set of greeting cards (see the prices page for details, and contact us to order your print).

A few years ago the Commodore's wife asked Ray to paint the Passing In Parade at the paradeground for her husband. Unknown to the Commodore's wife, Ray had painted a mouse somewhere on the canvas and refused to hand the painting over until the Commodore found it.
